Mr. Walsh has been in the energy business since 1996. He has built First Nations partnerships, shaped electric industry policy, and participated in numerous asset acquisitions. Mr. Walsh spent over six years with Brookfield Renewable Power, where he was responsible for hydroelectric project development in Canada. He also spent six years with CIBC World Markets with their commodities trading team. Mr. Walsh holds a Master of Industrial Relations from Queen’s University and a Bachelor in Economics from the University of Ottawa.

Michael Potyok

Mr. Potyok is a professional engineer that has been working in and consulting to the energy industry since 1995. An Ivey MBA rounds out his technical experience with knowledge of capital markets and project finance. Mr. Potyok started in the renewable power industry in 2001 as the first hire to a successful BC start-up which has developed and constructed over 150 MW of installed capacity. Mr. Potyok has also acted as a consultant, offering advice and technical input to several project developers, both big and small, in BC’s energy sector.

Mr. Good is an Electrical Engineering Technologist and has worked in the industry since 1996. With his broad experience in transmission planning and interconnections, Mr. Good has become proficient at bridging the gaps between industry technical experts and business-minded entrepreneurs. As project manager at Brookfield Renewable Power, Mr. Good was responsible for the environmental assessment of the Kokish River Project. Mr. Good graduated from SAIT in Calgary and has worked for TransAlta, AESO, and BC Hydro.

Mr. Oakley is an electrical engineer with three decades of experience in the North American generation and transmission industry. Mr. Oakley’s extensive experience includes planning, design, project management, operations and maintenance of generation, transmission and distribution facilities and systems. He has managed multi-discipline teams of engineers, designers, and tradespeople. Mr. Oakley’s most recent corporate role prior to Midgard was Vice President of Hydro Project Development for Brookfield Renewable Power.

Ms. Paul is a founding member and past President of the Industry Council for Aboriginal Business (ICAB), a non-profit bridging the gap in relationship building and economic development between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal businesses and communities.

Scott Martin

Mr. Martin is a Project Management Professional (PMP) with over 20 years of experience largely focused on power and transmission project development. This experience has included design and implementation of a decision support tool for 1,000 Megawatts of hydroelectric generation assets in southern California, leading the permitting, engineering and stakeholder engagement for the Culliton Hydroelectric project, which was commissioned in 2016.  Mr. Martin’s volunteer roles have focused on mentorship and the creation and execution of mentorship programs. Mr. Martin’s experience is based in contract review/negotiation/change management processes, decision support frameworks/ systems, regulatory approval and stakeholder engagement.

Mr. Mason is Professional Engineer with a background in mechanical engineering. Kazki Wu of Midgard Consulting Inc.

Mr. Wu is a resourceful Civil Engineer with a strong back ground in municipal water mains, geotechnical, water resources, and engineering project management. Recently graduated from the University of Alberta with a Master’s degree in Civil engineering, his research focused on condition assessment of water main/wastewater pipes and design of rehabilitation methods for pipe renewal. Mr. Wu has great interpersonal communication abilities, with a wide range of technical skills. Included but not limit to design of hydrologic and hydraulic infrastructures, geotechnical foundation design, and municipal water main/wastewater system design. He is also familiar with preparation of plans, specifications, technical reports and engineering studies. He has performed construction services including project management, site inspection, contract administration, as well as construction support to review technical drawings and respond to requests for information (RFI).

Rory MacGregor

B.ENG.

Mr. MacGregor graduated from the University of Ottawa in 2018 with a degree in Electrical Engineering with a fourth-year specialization in Power and Sustainable Energy. During his time in Ottawa, he was a founding member of a class built around product development and design. Each semester Mr. MacGregor would assist on a variety of student projects, teaching various technologies and getting local professionals involved to act as clients. As a project manager, it was Mr. MacGregor responsibility to ensure students built a product within a tight 3-month window.  Since graduating, Mr. MacGregor has been working in a technical sales role for an industrial power OEM, selling battery chargers and UPS systems. This role had various aspects including project management, processing requests for quotations, outbound sales development as well as training on industrial equipment. Mr. MacGregor found his interest in Electrical Engineering through his love of music, where his interest in electronics and electrical theory is tied to his passion for recording music.
